Belen 体育名人堂

The Belen 校友 Association of Jesuit Schools from Cuba and Miami and Belen Jesuit instituted the Belen 体育名人堂 in 2007. Members are chosen on the basis of their playing ability, 体育精神, 字符, and their contribution to their team or teams and to the game they participated in for el Colegio de Belén, Belen Jesuit Preparatory School, el Colegio de Dolores, Sagua, Electromecánica and Montserrat. Athletic achievements are of prime importance, but accomplishment after graduation is also considered. Coaches are chosen on the basis of their coaching, 管理, 或者执行能力, 体育精神, 字符 and their contribution to their organization or organizations and to the sport they coached.

GUIDELINES FOR NOMINATIONS

Former Student-Athletes/Teams
  • Must have attended the school for four years of high school and graduated (may be waived by the committee in special cases).
  • Athletic achievements, 体育精神, 字符, and contribution to the team are of prime importance, but accomplishments after leaving the school will also be considered.
  • Candidates must have concluded their careers as active players for a minimum of five years before their nomination (If nominating a team, you must wait until the team's youngest member has reached the five-year minimum requirement).
前教练 
  • Must have coached at the school for a minimum of four years.
  • Coaches are chosen based on their coaching, 管理 或者执行能力, 体育精神, 和性格.
  • Coaches must have concluded their involvement with the Athletic Department for one year before their nomination.
朋友
  • Other non-student-athletes or coaches may be considered based on exceptional contributions to the athletic program.

  • Deceased candidates will be given equal consideration.

Belen Jesuit Preparatory School was founded in 1854 in Havana, Cuba by Queen Isabel II of Spain.  The task of educating students was assigned to the priests and brothers of the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits), whose teaching tradition is synonymous with academic excellence and 精神上的 discipline.  In 1961, the new political regime of Cuba confiscated the School property and expelled the Jesuit faculty.  The School was re-established in Miami the same year, and over the next decade, continued to grow.  今天, Belen Jesuit sits on a 30-acre site in western Dade County, only minutes away from downtown Miami.
